This agreement (the "Agreement") is between Dorner Functional Nutrition, LLC, Dr. Kris Dorner (collectively, "we," "us," or "our") and you, the user of our Website and Services. By using our Website or Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
We reserve the right to modify this Agreement at any time. Any modifications will be effective immediately upon posting to the Website. Your continued use of the Website or Services following such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
2. Services Provided
Dorner Functional Nutrition, LLC provides online functional medicine consultations, health and wellness information, educational content, and related services. All consultations are conducted virtually via secure video conferencing.
What We Provide:

- Personalized health protocols and recommendations
- Functional lab test ordering and interpretation
- Supplement recommendations through our practitioner dispensary
- Educational content about functional approaches to mental health
- Email support between consultations
3. No Doctor-Patient Relationship
IMPORTANT: Dr. Kris Dorner is a Doctor of Natural Medicine (DNM), NOT a medical doctor (MD or DO).
No licensed doctor-patient relationship or medical professional-patient relationship is created by using this Website, purchasing our Services, or communicating with us via email, phone, or video consultation.
Dr. Dorner cannot and does not:
- Prescribe medications
- Diagnose medical conditions or psychiatric disorders
- Provide emergency medical care
- Replace the care provided by your licensed physician or psychiatrist
Our Services are intended to complement, not replace, the relationship you have with your medical doctors, psychiatrists, therapists, and other licensed healthcare providers.
4. Medical Disclaimer
THIS WEBSITE OFFERS HEALTH AND NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. YOU SHOULD NOT RELY ON THIS INFORMATION AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL ADVICE, DIAGNOSIS, OR TREATMENT.

5. Consultation Fees & Payment
Initial Consultation
- Fee: $497
- Duration: 60 minutes
- Format: Virtual video call
- Payment: Full payment is due at the time of booking
- Refund Policy: Initial consultations are non-refundable once booked
Follow-Up Consultations
- Fee: $297
- Duration: 30-45 minutes
- Format: Virtual video call
- Payment: Payment is due at the time of the consultation
Payment Terms
All payments are processed securely through our payment processor. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees to your payment method.
If payment is not received within 10 days of a consultation, we reserve the right to automatically charge the payment method on file for services rendered.
6. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
Cancellation Notice Required: You must cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 48 hours before your scheduled consultation time.
How to Cancel/Reschedule: All cancellations and rescheduling must be done through our online booking system (Practice Better) or by emailing kris@drkrisdorner.com.
Late Cancellation Fee: If you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice or fail to attend your scheduled consultation, you will be charged the full consultation fee.
No-Show Policy: If you do not attend your scheduled consultation without prior notice, you will forfeit the full consultation fee and may need to pay for a new consultation to reschedule.
Practitioner Delays: If Dr. Dorner is running late, you must remain available for the entire duration of your scheduled consultation time. Leaving early due to the practitioner running late will result in a missed consultation charge.
7. Lab Testing
Functional lab testing may be recommended based on your individual health situation. Lab testing is optional but highly recommended for comprehensive root-cause investigation.
Lab Costs: All lab testing costs are separate from consultation fees and are your responsibility. Lab costs typically range from $400-$1,200 depending on tests ordered.
Lab Orders: We order labs on your behalf through third-party laboratories. We are not responsible for lab errors, shipping delays, or issues with specimen collection.
Results: Lab results typically take 2-3 weeks after the lab receives your samples. We will review results with you during a follow-up consultation.
8. Supplements
We may recommend professional-grade supplements as part of your personalized protocol. All supplement recommendations are made through our practitioner dispensary.
Supplement Costs: Supplement costs are separate from consultation fees and typically range from $100-$300 per month depending on your protocol.
Purchasing: You are not required to purchase supplements through our dispensary, but we strongly recommend professional-grade products for quality and efficacy.
Returns: Supplement return policies are governed by the dispensary's return policy, not ours.
9. Email Communication Between Consultations
We appreciate that email can be useful for quick questions. However, email is not appropriate for all communications.
Appropriate Email Use:
- Yes/no questions
- Brief clarifications from your last consultation
- Scheduling questions
- Administrative matters
Inappropriate Email Use:
- Complex treatment questions
- New or worsening symptoms
- Urgent health concerns
- Medication questions (contact your prescribing physician)
Response Time: We will respond to appropriate emails within 2-3 business days. If your question requires more than a brief response, we will ask you to schedule a follow-up consultation.
For Urgent Matters: Do not use email for urgent health concerns. Contact your physician or call 911 for emergencies.
10. Insurance & Reimbursement
Our services are not covered by insurance. We do not accept insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid.
HSA/FSA: Our services may be eligible for reimbursement through Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). Check with your plan administrator.
Superbills: We can provide superbills (itemized receipts) that you may submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. However, we cannot guarantee reimbursement.
11. Scope of Practice
As a Doctor of Natural Medicine (DNM) licensed in Indiana, Dr. Dorner's scope of practice includes:
- Nutritional counseling and dietary recommendations
- Lifestyle and wellness coaching
- Functional lab test ordering and interpretation
- Supplement recommendations
- Root-cause investigation of health concerns
Dr. Dorner does NOT practice medicine, psychiatry, psychology, or psychotherapy. He cannot prescribe medications, diagnose psychiatric conditions, or provide mental health therapy.
12. Working With Your Existing Healthcare Team
We encourage you to inform your physicians, psychiatrists, and other healthcare providers about our work together. Our goal is to collaborate with your existing team, not replace them.
Medication Changes: Never stop, start, or change medications without consulting your prescribing physician. We cannot provide guidance on medication management.
Coordination of Care: With your permission, we may communicate with your other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
13. Confidentiality & Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. Please see our Privacy Policy for detailed information about how we collect, use, and protect your personal and health information.
HIPAA Compliance: While we are not legally required to comply with HIPAA as a non-licensed medical provider, we voluntarily follow HIPAA-equivalent privacy practices to protect your health information.
